For four days and three nights, use Da Nang as your main base, reserve an afternoon and evening for Hoi An, and choose one substantial outing for another day. This is a manageable first-visit plan with space for meals and rest.

Choose one main base

Staying in Da Nang for all three nights reduces packing and hotel changes. Consider the actual walk to My Khe if beach time matters, or a location near your city activities if evenings by the Han River are the priority. A hotel name does not establish beach access or a sea-view room. Moving one night to Hoi An can suit an early-morning old-town visit, but adds checkout, luggage storage and another transfer.

Keep arrival day flexible

Allow time for baggage, airport transport and your actual check-in conditions. Ask about luggage storage if arrival precedes the room’s check-in time. Choose one nearby walk and a meal rather than a timed excursion close to your landing time. If swimming is part of your plan, use current local advice and sea conditions rather than treating an itinerary as a safety assessment.

Give Hoi An its own afternoon and evening

Agree the pickup point, return time and driver contact before leaving. Group your old-town walk into a manageable area and include a rest stop when travelling with children or anyone who finds long walks difficult. Confirm admission to individual heritage sites separately from boat outings or guided activities. Ask for the complete price, duration and inclusions before accepting a service; an illustrated lantern scene is not a promise about your evening’s conditions.

Choose one main outing on day three

Ba Na Hills needs its own transport and operating-time plan. Marble Mountains can leave more of the day available for rest, although steps and heat still matter. Compare pickup, ticket scope, meals, guide language and excluded expenses when choosing a tour. Avoid adding both attractions simply because they appear close together on a list.

Build a budget from comparable components

Separate three nights of accommodation, transport to the region, airport transfers, the Hoi An outing, attraction tickets or tours, meals and contingency. Compare the same dates, guests and cancellation terms. A lower room price can exclude breakfast or flexibility; a lower tour price can cover a different ticket scope. No fixed deal price is asserted here because availability and final charges require a current booking check.

Leave a weather alternative and a departure buffer

Use short-range forecasts and local notices when choosing outdoor activities. A suitable indoor visit that is open, a shorter outing or rest can replace a beach session; follow official guidance in severe weather. Keep departure day light, confirm checkout and baggage arrangements, and agree airport timing with your provider. Common planning questions

Should I change hotels between Da Nang and Hoi An?

One base is simpler for a short trip. Move only if the extra time you want in Hoi An justifies another checkout and luggage transfer.

Can Ba Na Hills and Hoi An fit into one day?

For a relaxed trip, separate them. Combine them only around an operator-confirmed schedule and the needs of your group.
